Expert Dictate ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of the information you handle within the app. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
Audio Recordings: The app uses your device's microphone to record voice dictations. These recordings are stored exclusively on your device and are never transmitted to our servers or any third party without your explicit action (such as using the share feature).
Case & Folder Data: The names and metadata associated with your cases and folders are stored locally on your device only.
Subscription Information: Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, store, or process your payment details. Subscription status is managed via RevenueCat, which operates under its own privacy policy.
Usage Data: We do not collect analytics, usage statistics, crash reports, or any behavioural data from within the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
All data within Expert Dictate is used solely to provide the core functionality of the app — recording, organising, and sharing your dictations. We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or any other purpose.
3. Data Storage & Security
All recordings and case data are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's standard file system. The security of this data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including Face ID, Touch ID, and device encryption.
We strongly recommend enabling a device passcode and using Face ID or Touch ID to protect access to your device and, by extension, your recordings.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to any third party. When you use the in-app share function, you are in full control of where the file is sent. Sharing is initiated only by you and only when you explicitly choose to do so.
5. Third-Party Services
Expert Dictate uses the following third-party services solely for subscription management:
- Apple App Store: Handles all in-app purchases and subscription billing.
- RevenueCat: Manages subscription status verification. RevenueCat may process a device identifier and subscription state. No audio or case data is shared with RevenueCat. Please review RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for further information.
6. Children's Privacy
Expert Dictate is designed for use by medical professionals and is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Data Retention
Your data is retained on your device for as long as you use the app. If you delete the app, all locally stored recordings and case data will be permanently deleted from your device. We do not retain any copies of your data.
8. Your Rights
Because all your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it at all times. You may delete individual recordings or cases at any time within the app, or remove all data by deleting the app from your device.
If you have questions about how your subscription data is handled, you may contact RevenueCat directly or manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Continued use of the app following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
